International authors Michael Russer and Jacqueline Lopez will be speaking to Central Coast cancer survivors, their partners and the general public at the Coalesce Bookstore in Morro Bay about regaining sex and intimacy in the face of cancer on Aug. 6 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event also includes a book signing.
Russer is a fully impotent ongoing survivor of two cancers and Jacqueline is his life partner. Together they discovered ways of achieving extraordinary levels of emotional, sexual and spiritual intimacy that most couples can barely fathom.
It is their mission to share these discoveries as they speak throughout the world to survivors, partners and the public. Their latest book: “Return to Sex & Intimacy,” was published in May.
“Cancer-induced impaired sexual function or body image can have a devastating effect on even the most loving of couples. We have found a way, without drugs, surgery or aids, to turn this tragedy into ever-increasing levels of intimacy that may exceed what couples had before cancer,” Russer said.
“This book is also for women, especially those who are post-menopausal.” Lopez said. “Contrary to popular belief, post-menopausal women can experience the best intimacy of their life.”
The speech and book signing will take place at Coalesce Bookstore located at 845 Main Street in Morro Bay on Aug. 6 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
