SLO County offering free well water testing

San Luis Obispo County is offering free water quality testing to some San Luis Obispo County residents who rely on well water in a joint program with the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board.

The water control board had identified several areas of the county where higher than normal levels of arsenic and nitrates could exist in well water. High levels of naturally occurring arsenic can impact health over time.

Residents in rural Paso Robles, Santa Margarita, the California Valley and Arroyo Grande are the first to be eligible for the program. Other county rural well-water can apply for testing if the program receives more money.

To schedule your free testing, or if you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please fill out the interest form, call 805-594-6163, or email SLOWellTesting@gmail.com.
