San Luis Obispo police are searching for a man who was caught by a surveillance camera prowling around the driveway of a home in a neighborhood southwest of Meadow Park early Thursday morning.

The man, described as a white male in his 20s, is wearing a baseball cap and a long sleeve sweatshirt as he walks up the driveway of the home at 1:45 a.m. He then tries to open the doors of two parked cars.

The suspect finds both doors locked and immediately leaves.

Neighbors in the area reported four thefts later Thursday, all from unlocked vehicles.

To avoid becoming an easy target for thieves, remember to lock your car doors and do not store valuables in your vehicle.
