Deputies arrested a 26-year-old Arroyo Grande man on Saturday for attempted murder after he stabbed two women repeatedly at a home near Lopez Lake, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
Shortly before 10 a.m., Alberto Isaac Gonzales Penaliza allegedly stabbed two women multiple times at a home at 2708 Waters End Road. Deputies arrived to find two women suffering from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma. One woman had a knife in her neck.
Before deputies arrived, the suspect fled on foot. Multiple agencies including park rangers, the CHP and the sheriff’s department located the suspect in the Lopez Lake area.
Shortly before 1 p.m., deputies apprehended Penaliza, who was dehydrated and delusional.
After providing medical treatment, deputies booked Penaliza into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on two counts of attempted murder. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
