Judal Emmanuel Thompson
Morro Bay police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl they found hiding inside the closet of a home they were burglarizing on Monday.
Shortly before noon, a witness reported seeing a man climbing through an open window at a home in the 2000 block of Ironwood Avenue.
With the help of a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy, officers searched the home, located the suspects and found evidence linking them to the burglary of the house and a trailer that was parked outside. Investigators determined the camping trailer had been burglarized through the roof skylight.
During their investigation, officers recovered $200 of stolen cash.
Officers booked Judal Emmanuel Thompson into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on two counts of first degree burglary. Thompson is no longer in custody, according to the sheriff’s office website.
Police booked the 14-year-old girl in juvenile hall, also on two counts of first degree burglary. Officials are not releasing her identity.
The case remains under investigation. Officers are asking anyone who has additional information to call the Morro Bay police department at (805) 772-6225 and speak with Detective Gene Stuart.
Back in the day, his parents would have wiped that smile right off his face.
