Lompoc man dies after getting pinned between truck and trailer

A 60-year-old Lompoc man died Thursday in an industrial accident at a Santa Barbara County vineyard. Sheriff’s officials have identified the victim as Adan Guerrero Villa.

Shortly before noon, Villa was inside a pickup truck with a trailer attached at a vineyard in the 2300 block of Sweeney Road in Lompoc. While a forklift was being loaded onto the back of a trailer, the truck and trailer began to slide and became jackknifed.

Villa attempted to exit the vehicle and became pinned between the truck and the trailer. He died at the scene of the accident.

Officials notified Villa’s relatives and reported the accident to Cal/OSHA.
