A small helicopter crashed Sunday morning at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport.

At about 9:30 a.m., the helicopter went down in a slough just west of runway 15, according to the Santa Barbara Fire Department. Emergency crews from the Santa Barbara city and county fire departments arrived at the scene and found the two occupants of the helicopter suffered minor to moderate injuries.

It is unclear what caused the helicopter to crash. An investigation is ongoing.
