A serial burglar is suspected of breaking into more than 25 tasting rooms at North County wineries and stealing money from cash registers.
The burglaries have taken place over the past couple months in the Paso Robles and Templeton areas, with the latest break-in occurring a few days ago, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe the crimes have been the work of a single person, since the burglaries have been similar in nature.
Upon breaking into the tasting rooms, the burglar steals a small amount of money from the cash register, a sheriff’s office press release states. The total loss from all of the burglaries amounts to a few thousand dollars.
The burglar has not stolen any other items, and there is no evidence of vandalism. Sheriff’s officials describe the burglaries as random in nature, having occurred in different areas on different days.
