Bicyclist killed on Corbett Canyon Road identified

A Pismo Beach woman who died in a bicycle accident on Corbett Canyon Road has been identified as Lacey Tanner Redd, 38,

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 6, an Arroyo Grande man collided with Redd on Corbett Canyon Road close to Highway 227. Redd died at the scene.

The driver was heading to work, traveling eastbound on Corbett Canyon Road. The man said he did not see Redd prior to colliding with her because of the glare of the sun.

The driver was not arrested. CHP officers are currently investigating the deadly crash.

    This is really sad. As JimF says, I can’t even fathom what the family is going through.

    I think we can fix some of this by banning bicycles on roads that don’t have at least a 3′ shoulder.

    Heartbreaking news. The family already lost her little brother just a couple of years ago. I can’t imagine what they’re going through.
