Around 11:30 a.m., Zackary Angel of Santa Barbara allegedly used a replica gun to rob a dental office in the 1200 block of Garden Street. Officials have yet to disclose what the suspect stole during the robbery.

As Angel fled, police vehicles swarmed the area, some driving the wrong way on Santa Barbara Street as drivers and pedestrians got out of their way. Officers tracked down and arrested Angel at Santa Barbara and Figueroa streets, just half a block away from the police station. Some officers ran out of the station to assist with the arrest.

Officers charged Angel with several counts of robbery, brandishing a replica firearm and child endangerment. Police booked him into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

After searching bushes, trash cans and the front yards of area homes, officers found a black handgun in a dumpster that turned out to be a replica firearm. Nonetheless, investigators believe it was the gun used in the robbery.
