San Miguel man arrested for shooting person in the neck

Jim Pinedo

Detectives and SWAT officers teamed up on Friday to arrest a 37-year-old San Miguel man who allegedly shot a person in the neck earlier this month.

On Oct. 2, a victim whom authorities have not identified, sought medical treatment at a local hospital emergency room. San Luis Obispo County deputies arrived at the emergency room and determined Jim Pinedo was the shooter.

At about 5:30 a.m. on Friday, SLO County Sheriff’s detectives and the regional SWAT Team served a high-risk search warrant for Pinedo at a home on the 2700 block of Pine Hawk Way. During the search, officers located Pinedo and arrested him for attempted murder.

Deputies booked Pinedo into the SLO County Jail with his bail set at $500,000. Pinedo currently remains in custody.
