One person is dead and three others are injured after a Chevy pickup truck rear-ended a semi-truck on Highway 101 near Camp Roberts Monday morning. A Honda Accord then slammed into the pickup truck killing one person inside the car and seriously injuring two others.
Shortly after 6 a.m., the semi-truck with two trailers was headed southbound on Highway 101 near a rest stop in southern Monterey County. The pickup truck then crashed into one of the trailers and the Accord slammed into the pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries while the two survivors in the Accord suffered serious injuries.
Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the victim. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
