A woman drove her vehicle drove off Highway 1 in Cayucos Wednesday, rolled several times and landed upside down in thick vegetation. The woman became trapped in her car, and emergency responders needed to extricate her, according to Cal Fire.

Around 2 p.m., the woman rear-ended a vehicle on Highway 1 and drove erratically prior to going off the road near Cayucos Drive. It is unclear what caused the woman to lose control of the car.

Emergency personnel transported the woman to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The crash prompted the temporary closure of the Cayucos Drive off-ramp.
