About 5:45 a.m., the truck turned left, sheered a fire hydrant and landed on its side with a hole having been punctured in the trailer. Firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident on Tank Farm Road by South Higuera Street and turned off the hydrant.
The firefighters noticed some type of powder from the truck spilled, prompting them to declare a hazmat situation. Fire officials say some of the herbicide and pesticide may have spilled into a nearby storm drain before crews managed to contain it with a dirt perimeter.
Still, officials say there was no immediate risk to the public. No one suffered injuries during the incident.
