AT&T internet service out for 1,500 SLO customers

A contractor working on a job unrelated to AT&T sliced through two of the phone companies network cables Thursday leaving 1,500 San Luis Obispo customers without internet and some phone services.

Late Thursday afternoon, the contractor sliced through both a 600 and a 900 line cable near the intersection of Morro Road and Hiquera Street leaving multiple businesses without phone service and the ability to process credit cards. Yesterday, customer service representatives estimated the repairs would be finished by late Friday afternoon.

By Saturday morning, AT&T representatives said service is slated to be returned sometime on Monday.
