One person was killed and another was injured Friday evening in a two car collision on Highway 46 near Geneseo Road in Paso Robles, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shortly before 9 p.m., a woman from Los Angeles was headed westbound on Highway 46 when she pulled into the Geneseo Road turn lane. The woman then pulled into the intersection in front of a truck driven by 44-year-old Charles Bradshaw of Santa Maria, who was headed eastbound at about 65 mph.
Bradshaw’s truck crashed into the women’s Honda, causing both vehicles to careen off the highway.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is not being released pending notification of her next of kin.
Bradshaw complained of back pain, and said he would seek his own treatment.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
