About 5:30 p.m., Andrew DeVillers, 45, was heading east on Pozo Road about six miles east of Santa Margarita when the right side of his truck went onto a dirt shoulder. DeVillers failed to get back onto the road and ultimately slammed into the tree.
Jacqueline Plumey, 53, was pinned inside the truck. Once crews finally pulled her out of the vehicle, Plumey was flown to a local hospital. She was in fair condition, as of Monday morning.
DeVillers suffered minor injuries and was booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail.
