Barbecue sets Santa Barbara backyard on fire

A backyard barbecue ignited not only a grill, but surrounding brush and objects at a Santa Barbara home on Tuesday. [KCOY]

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., a man used gasoline to start his barbecue in the 5100 block of Dawn Lane. The grill flared up quickly, and flames jumped to nearby brush and then spread to a fence and a shed.

The fire did not damage the house, though. No one suffered injuries as a result of the blaze.

Santa Barbara County fire officials are conducting an investigation into the incident.
