A search team discovered the remains of a missing 18-year-old Santa Barbara man in Yosemite National Park on Tuesday night. [KCOY]
Gerardo Cruz Hernandez was last seen in Santa Barbara on the morning of Nov. 22. Hernandez’s vehicle was discovered later that day at Glacier Point in Yosemite.
Following a six-day search, a team of park rangers, rescue dogs and a CHP helicopter managed to locate the teen’s remains in the Glacier Point area. Authorities recovered the remains on Wednesday.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of Hernandez’s death.
Hernandez had graduated Dos Pueblos High and was reportedly studying accounting at Santa Barbara City College. A GoFundMe page is raising money for Hernandez’s family.
