A man wanted for violating parole ran away from police Friday evening while officers were conducting a probation check. The suspect managed to evade capture despite multiple law enforcement agencies teaming up to apprehend him. [KSBY]
At approximately 6 p.m., probation officers conducted a check at a home in southern Atascadero. While officers were searching the home, the man took off running, according to the Atascadero Police Department.
Police set up a perimeter and searched the area around Paloma Creek Park. A CHP helicopter, K9s and Atascadero State Hospital officers assisted with the search.
Authorities called off the search shortly before 8 p.m. Police have yet to disclose the man’s identity.
