Shortly after sexually molesting two young boys in a motel room, an 18-year-old man called his mother admitting what he had done. Joseph Hayden Boston then confessed to investigators that, in all, he has molested around 50 children, according to the Riverside Police Department. [CBS News]

Boston was recently staying at the Simply Home Inn & Suites in Riverside. At the motel, he befriended an 8-year-old boy and a 4-year-old boy, who were staying there with their parents.

The molestation allegedly occurred in Boston’s motel room. The children were reportedly allowed to go into Boston’s room at night.

Boston’s mother brought him to a Riverside police station, where he admitted to the hotel assaults and also confessed to molesting “upwards of 50 children” since he was 10 years old, Riverside police spokesman Officer Ryan Railsback said. Detectives say they believe Boston and his claims that he victimized children who have yet to come forward.

Officers arrested Boston on two charges of oral copulation on a child under the age of 10 and booked him into jail with his bail set at $1 million. Riverside County Child Protective Services took custody of both of the child victims from the motel.

Boston had been staying in Riverside since early November. He previously lived in the Southern California cities of Lakewood and Buena Park.
