Supermoon 2017, photos from Atascadero

The full moon hung closer to the Earth than usual on Sunday making the years largest supermoon appear bold and bright in the night sky.

Supermoons occur when a full moon is at or near its closest point in orbit around the Earth. Supermoons appear larger and brighter than other full moons.
