Three suspects believed to be between the ages of 16 and 19 robbed two individuals who were sitting in a vehicle in a Morro Bay parking lot on Friday. The suspects stole a phone, wallet and watch and managed to evade capture, according to the Morro Bay Police Department.

Shortly before 6 p.m., two males were sitting in a car parked in a lot in the 700 block of Quintana Road. The three suspects approached the vehicle, and two of them began hitting the person sitting in the passenger seat.

The third suspect, with a firearm tucked in his waistband, confronted the driver as he attempted to exit the car.

While confronting the driver, the man with the gun demanded his wallet. But the driver refused the teen’s demands. The suspect then entered the vehicle and stole the driver’s cell phone

Meanwhile, the other two suspects continued to hit the passenger. They managed to remove his wallet and steal his watch, as well.

All three suspects fled the area by foot. As of Monday, Morro Bay detectives were still investigating leads.
