Man robs SLO Credit Union

A man who appears to be about 60 years old robbed the SLO Credit Union in downtown San Luis Obispo Thursday and has since managed to evade capture.

Shortly before 2 p.m., the man entered the bank and waited for customers to leave. He then approached a teller, demanded money and calmly walked out the front of the bank with cash, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Witnesses did not see a weapon during the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing a black ball cap with a black hooded sweatshirt over the top of the hat.

The robber had a long sleeve, light colored shirt or sweater over the hooded sweatshirt. He was also wearing light colored gloves.

It appeared the suspect was unshaven but did not have a thick beard. Investigators request that anyone who has information about the robbery call the police department or Crime Stoppers.
