Residents jump out of burning Paso Robles apartment

Two adults and two children jumped out a second-floor window of an apartment that was on fire in Paso Robles early Thursday morning. All four of the individuals survived the ordeal, but the fire displaced a total of 13 people.

The fire broke out at about 2 a.m. inside an apartment complex on Ebony Road. Paso Robles firefighters arrived at the apartment within four minutes of the 911 call and found heavy smoke and flames coming out of a second-floor apartment and stairwell, according to a fire department press release.

Firefighters managed to stop the blaze from spreading to adjoining apartments. The blaze was contained by 2:30 a.m.

One adult suffered leg injuries as a result of the leap and received treatment at Twin Cities Community Hospital.
