Pismo Beach policeman finds dead body on the beach

Pismo Beach police discovered a dead body lying on the beach on Wednesday.

At about 1 p.m., a police sergeant was patrolling the beach south of the Addie Street parking lot when he noticed something lying in the tide line. Officers then discovered it was a dead body lying on the beach.

The San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Unit will conduct an autopsy to confirm the person’s identity and cause of death.

Pismo Beach police are also investigating the death. Police officials say investigators are developing leads in the case.

Police have not released any further information.

    I always wondered when I read about a “dead body”. Is there such a thing as finding a “live body”? Or should we just say they found “a body”?
