Body found on Pismo Beach identified as missing Grover Beach teen

William Casper Jr.

The Pismo Beach Police Department has identified 18-year-old William Casper Jr. as the man whose body was found lying on the beach on Wednesday.

Casper, of Grover Beach, had been missing since early December. He was last seen in north Grover Beach on Dec. 9 and was reported missing shortly afterwards by his mother.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Pismo Beach police sergeant was patrolling the beach south of the Addie Street parking lot when he noticed something lying in the tide line. Officers then discovered Casper’s body lying on the beach.

Pismo Beach police investigators have thus far discovered no signs of foul play, police said. Casper’s cause of death will be determined once investigators receive the results of toxicology tests.

Authorities have not released any more information about the case.
