San Miguel burglar gets away from sheriff’s deputies

A 32-year-old man who stole a firearm and other items from a home in San Miguel managed to successfully run away from San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies on Monday.

Shortly before 2 p.m., deputies were called to investigate a burglary that occurred in the 1300 block of L Street. While sheriff’s deputies were investigating the burglary, they attempted to make contact with Kevin Bruce Duckworth-White.

Duckworth-White fled by foot, and deputies pursued him. The suspect managed to evade capture.

However, the bulk of the property that was stolen from the San Miguel home has been recovered, with the exception of a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s officials describe Duckworth-White’s appearance as 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Officials warn anyone who sees or Duckworth-White or knows of his whereabouts not to contact him, but rather to call the sheriff’s office dispatch at (805) 781-4550.
