Two Santa Maria men are charged with stabbing a coworker at a rural Arroyo Grande worksite last week.
On March 30 at 9:30 a.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies found the victim, a Hispanic man, at a local hospital with a laceration on his back.
While speaking with deputies, the victim said he had been living with the suspects until recently, and on the evening before the stabbing, they brandished a firearm at him in Santa Maria. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects and a search warrant for their Santa Maria home.
The Santa Maria Police Department Special Enforcement Team then served the warrant and took Hector Tinoco Agustin, 20, and Jonathan Tinoco, 24, into custody. Detectives found a stolen pistol, as well as an assault rifle, in the home.
SLO County deputies booked both suspects in jail on attempted murder charges. Agustin and Tinoco both remain in custody with their bail set at $500,000.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
