At 1:26 p.m., officers spotted the suspect in a car that was reported stolen from San Luis Obispo early Sunday morning. Police tried pulling him over, but the suspect fled and a pursuit ensued.

During the chase, the suspect abandoned the car and fled by foot. He ran into a large section of the riverbed.

SLO County sheriff’s deputies then teamed up with Paso Robles police and CHP and Fish and Wildlife personnel to locate the suspect. They received help from a CHP helicopter.

Officers eventually found the suspect and arrested him without a fight. Authorities have yet to disclose the suspect’s identity.
