Two Arroyo Grande men allegedly attacked a man outside a Grover Beach convenience store and stole his backpack on Tuesday. Officers later arrested them for robbery.
At about 2 p.m., a fight broke out in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 1100 block of West Grand Avenue. Officers arrived and found a 20-year-old man who said he was attacked and robbed by two unknown men, according to the Grover Beach Police Department.
The suspects beat the victim with their hands and stole his backpack, which contained numerous personal belongings, police say. The victim suffered minor injuries which did not require medical attention.
Investigators gathered information and identified the suspects as Preston Jacob Sharf, 18, and Randy Bell Danks, Jr., 28. Officers located the suspects at separate homes near the scene of the crime and arrested both of them without incident.
Two uninvolved juveniles turned in the victim’s property at the police department, according to a news release.
Officers booked Sharf and Danks into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on felony robbery charges. Danks remains in jail with his bail set at $60,000 while Sharf is no longer listed as being in custody, according to the county sheriff’s office website.
